From plant to board

Engineered from Nature.

Most boards start at a refinery. Ours starts in a field — the Agave 10's structural core is grown on a Kenyan sisal agave estate, a by-product transformed into a high-performance board.

Agave Stem Core

An innovative natural core.

The Agave 10 is built around an innovative natural core. Each board incorporates 46 reclaimed Agave stems with precision-engineered internal chambers that create sealed air pockets throughout the board. This natural cellular structure delivers a high-performance board that is lighter, stronger and more responsive. Board blanks are harvested in Kenya — 100% natural, zero irrigation, zero pesticides, responsibly crafted, biodegradable and compostable.

The Case for Inventive Re-Use

Wine corks, reborn as deck pads.

The deck pads are crafted from recycled wine corks by ReCORK — now re-imagined as precision-cut deck pads for the water sports industry. Natural benefits: superior comfort, exceptional grip, excellent shock absorption, naturally temperature regulating.

Builders shaping an Agave 10 core in the workshop, combining CNC technology with hand-crafting

Shaping a Sustainable Water Sports Industry

Cutting-edge, and hand-finished.

From shaping the board through to crafting and installing timber fittings, then painting and sealing — every stage is handled by Agave shaping specialists Eco Surf Supply, who combine cutting-edge CNC technologies with traditional handcrafting skills. Active drivers of change in the European surf industry.

Making a conventional 10 ft board can release as much carbon as three to five trees absorb in twenty years. The Agave 10 was built to do the opposite — to store carbon, not spend it.

Each Agave 10 instead locks in roughly 368 kg of stored carbon — more than double a standard shortboard blank.

71%

Lower carbon than a conventional foam board — 372–547 kg CO₂ avoided per board (71.39%, Grow Blanks LCA).

100%

Biodegradable shaping waste — compostable, with no toxic dust and nothing sent to landfill.

Zero

Water used in manufacturing. Zero irrigation and zero pesticides in cultivation.
